App Privacy Policy (The Ivy Room App)
This section explains how The Ivy Room handles personal information collected through our web application located at https://app.theivyroom.co.za.
Data Accessed
When you sign in with Google, our application requests access only to your Google account basic profile information, specifically:
Your name
Your email address
No other Google account data (such as contacts, files, calendars, photos, etc.) is accessed.
Data Usage
The information we collect from Google Sign-In is used solely to:
Create and maintain your member profile in our booking and membership system.
Identify you when you log into the app.
Communicate with you regarding your class bookings, memberships, invoices, and other relevant studio updates.
We do not use your Google information for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your Google account information with third parties. Your data is used only within The Ivy Room for membership management and related studio operations.
Data Storage & Protection
Your information (name and email) is securely stored in our membership booking database hosted on encrypted servers. Access to this data is restricted to authorized staff members for operational purposes only.
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your Google account information is retained for as long as you maintain a membership or booking profile with The Ivy Room.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@theivyroom.co.za.
Upon account deletion, your name and email will be permanently removed from our booking system, except where retention is required for legal or financial record-keeping (e.g., invoices).
Payment Information
Payment Information and Saved Cards
- By completing a purchase on The Ivy Room app or website, you authorise The Ivy Room to securely store a payment authorisation token issued by our payment provider, Paystack.
- This token allows us to charge the same payment method for future purchases that you initiate (for example, class packages or renewals).
- You may withdraw this authorisation and delete saved payment methods at any time in your account settings.
- No full card information is stored by us, and all transactions are processed securely through Paystack in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
